1. WHO CAN BENEFIT FROM DIABETES RESPONSE SERVICE?
Diabetes Response Service Global, LLC was initially a diabetes solution to monitor and manage single diabetics who face the daily possibility of low glucose
levels resulting in emergencies. A single parent, a widow, a divorced man, single woman, a college student, teenager - anyone.
But anyone with the need for a security monitoring service may use Diabetes Response Service, including but not limited to
brain injury patients and people diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease. Doctors can benefit by creating an account, which allows them to chart their patient's patterns of emergencies.
2. HOW MANY SERVICE CALLS CAN I RECEIVE A DAY?
There is no limit. The base monthly service subscription includes 1 call per day, at any time.
Each additional daily service call is an additional $24.95/month.
3. WHY WON'T A TYPICAL EMERGENCY RESPONSE SYSTEM WORK FOR MY SITUATION?
All other emergency response services and other re-active systems are designed for when you are able to alert your distress.
Diabetics who pass out in the middle of the night from low glucose or go into a diabetic seizure are not able
to function and alert anyone. If you passed out during the middle of the night, and didn't answer a scheduled call, Diabetes Response Service would
respond to get you the attention you need to prevent brain cell death or physical death. If you do not answer
a scheduled call, there will be time to respond to your situation and possibly save your life or prevent complications. Diabetes Response Service offers customization
and flexibility, unlike other services. You can change you call times, your address and your contacts anytime. You also have the choice to add on mobile text message reminders. You can create
a combination of text message alerts and calls with the ability to change your schedules online or through a call representative.
4. DO I NEED A SPECIAL PHONE UNIT?
No. Diabetes Response Service schedules service calls to your home phone, office phone or any phone number(s) you designate.
5. WHEN DO YOU CALL 911?
We understand that you are responsible for ambulance and hospital bills, and take this very seriously.
Our decision to contact 911 is a last resort when you do not respond to multiple calls on all of your listed phone
lines, and your contacts do not respond to our service calls.
6. WHO SHOULD I DESIGNATE AS MY PERSONAL CONTACTS? AND DO I NEED TWO CONTACTS?
At least one backup contact is required to register, but you have the option of designating two. Contacts should
preferably be people who live close to you who understand your disease, such as neighbors, friends and family.
Ideally, your first contact should be a neighbor with a key to your house.
7. WHAT IF I GO ON VACATION?
You can turn the service off through the control panel or customer service and turn the service back on once you return.
You also have the option to subscribe to our text message glucose reminder service so you remember to check your glucose levels.
8. HOW DO I CANCEL MY SERVICE?
You can cancel your service anytime online or by calling customer service toll free at 1-888-899-6946. Remember, you always have the option to turn
your service off for any period of time, and re-activate the service when you need it.
9. ONCE I ACTIVATE MY SERVICE, WHEN DO THE SCHEDULED CALLS BEGIN?
Please allow up to 24 hours for scheduled service calls to begin. You will receive an e-mail confirming your order.
10. DOES DIABETES RESPONSE SERVICE RESPOND FASTER THAN AN AMBULANCE?
That depends on your proximity to your contacts and if they respond. If you are in trouble, a next-door neighbor can respond to your situation
faster than the time it takes for a local ambulance to reach your house.
11. DO I STILL HAVE TO TEST MY BLOOD SUGAR LEVELS?
Yes. Diabetes Response Service provides preventative measures in the form of service phone calls and optional text message reminders to check your glucose, but does not replace the need to
continue your regularly scheduled medical routine.
12. IS THE SERVICE COVERED BY INSURANCE PROVIDERS, MEDICAIDE OR MEDICARE?
Currently, no.
13. IS THE SERVICE TAX DEDUCTABLE?
Please check with your tax advisor.
14. HOW CAN I PAY FOR THE SERVICE?
You can order our service online or by phone (toll-free 1-888-899-6946)
with a major credit card or debit card (Visa, MasterCard, Discover, American Express.)
The selected service fees will be charged in advance on a monthly basis continually until you cancel your service subscription.
